Calculations built around your project
A calculation package should reflect the building, the loads it carries and the changes you want to make. We review the available drawings, dimensions and existing construction before agreeing the design scope. Depending on the project, this can include beams, posts, floor members, bearings, foundations and connections.
The information behind a useful design
Existing London properties can include successive extensions, altered walls and details hidden behind finishes. Tell us about previous work and share any existing drawings or reports. We identify where additional measurements, opening-up information or a site visit may be needed before the design can be completed.
A package your project team can use
The agreed output explains the structural design and its assumptions. Where drawings or connection details are also needed, these are included in the quotation or identified separately. Share the package with your architect, contractor and Building Control contact so questions can be addressed before work progresses.
What to send with your enquiry
- Your project address or postcode and the type of property.
- Existing and proposed drawings, if available.
- Photographs and a short description of the works.
- Your intended programme and any queries already raised by the project team.
We consider projects throughout Greater London and nearby areas. The quotation confirms deliverables, information requirements and any site attendance; it does not assume that every enquiry needs the same package.
Common questions
Can you work from my architect’s drawings?
Yes. Send the current drawings and project postcode for an initial review. We will confirm whether the information is sufficient and identify any further measurements, surveys or details needed.
Are drawings included with the calculations?
The quotation will specify the deliverables. Some projects require structural drawings and details alongside calculations; we agree this before work begins.
